Power Avenue Project Partnership to Construct 8 New Rental Units for Disabled Veterans in Murfreesboro

In a unique partnership between Affordable Housing Futures and Alert Community Development Corporation will construct eight units of affordable and accessible rental housing for disabled veterans on the corner of Power Avenue  and Smith Street in Murfreesboro.

project details

To date, we have site control and zoning for all 8 units has been approved. We hope to apply for a grant from the Tennessee Housing and Development Authority in December 2017.


partnership details

For this project, Alert CDC will be the owner/developer. AHF will liaise with the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System and manage the project. Once the project is completed, AHF will provide asset management and tenant eligiblity verification and housing and credit counseling for all tenants.

Our affordable rental units for disabled veterans is located on the corner of Power Avenue and Smith Street, near the Rover bus route, the Salvation Army and downtown Murfreesboro.

Our parent nonprofit, Hope Housing Solutions, has a long-standing relationship with Tennessee Valley Healthcare System at the Alvin C York campus in Murfreesboro, which will make referrals to our program and also provide supportive services to the veterans living on Power Avenue.
