First of all, let us make this clear: we are a real nonprofit organization. Really. We are.

We are also a subsidiary nonprofit organization of another nonprofit organization. This is the point where things get confusing. Keep reading.

Hope Housing Solutions was formed in 2015 to address the affordable housing needs of (primarily) disabled veterans. Seth Weathersby has a heart for this group of honorable men and women who have served our country well and need the on-going support of housing that meets their physical and emotional needs. Seth owns a number of properties and had seen firsthand the great need in our community for safe, decent and affordable housing for veterans in Murfreesboro. Seth talked to Sam one day and Hope Housing Solutions was born. It is a nonprofit under IRS Code 501(c)3 and in good standing with the State of Tennessee. Seth is the President and Sam serves on the board as the Secretary/Treasurer.

Over the next year Sam started looking around him and through some volunteer and contract work with another local nonprofit, Sam reignited his passion for housing and community development. The more he talked with community leaders, industry professionals, community members and others he saw the great need for affordable housing in our community. In a moment of inspiration, Sam and Seth talked about revolutionizing the mission of Hope Housing Solutions to more broadly look at affordable housing in the community. After much discussion and prayer, they decided to keep Hope Housing Solutions focused on housing for disabled veterans, but to launch a subsidiary nonprofit to expand the vision and mission of Hope Housing Solutions. As a result, Affordable Housing Futures was created as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hope Housing Solutions.
